Subsequently he consulted privately for a variety of London Internet businesses during the dot-com boom of 1999/2000.In January 2000 he joined PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) where he worked for three years as a management consultant for Information, Communication and Entertainment (ICE).
In early 2003 he started Smoothmedia on the west coast of Canada turning it into a profitable enterprise in six months and performing work for a range of corporate and government clients developing websites, performing system integrations, and producing media and film. In 2005 he left for London to pursue a PhD in Sociology/Computing at Goldsmiths, University of London.
In 2005 he joined the staff in the Department of Journalism at City University, London as a lecturer in online media, a position he continues to hold. In September 2007 Christopher restarted Smoothmedia operations in London with a renewed focus on interactive services and website development.
